MPP is a non-profit organization that works with federal and state legislators and other policymakers, celebrities and other opinion leaders, allied organizations, and the news media to develop and promote policies to minimize the harm associated with both marijuana consumption and marijuana prohibition.
MPP works to chip away at the current excesses of marijuana prohibition, gradually replacing it with reasonable and compassionate policies. MPP believes that sick people -- as well as healthy people -- should not be arrested for using marijuana. Specifically, responsible adults should be allowed to cultivate small amounts of marijuana in their homes for personal use.
MPP endeavors to change the laws by educating and convincing public officials that marijuana prohibition causes more harm to the individual and to society than the consumption of marijuana. MPP does not take a stance on any other social or political issue, including the prohibition or regulation of tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs.
